12 Day Solitude Enthusiast Wilderness Hiking Trip
July to Late August
Our 12-day heli hiking trip into the South Nahanni ranges is the ultimate excursion for the solitude enthusiast. Enjoy these endless, empty mountains like the first explorer, alone. There are no human traces in this country and no other hikers but yourself. Our helicopter will glide over the jumble of untracked mountains, soaring into the skies of untouched, northern eternity and will deposit you at lonely wilderness places that haven’t seen men but boast the ancient paths of caribou, the ridgeline trails of Dall sheep and the big muddy tracks of wolves and bears along river banks.
We will be tenting most of this time, living in nature the way people were conditioned to not that long ago. Nearly 24 hours of sunlight and mauve midnight summer skies make camping exciting and pleasurable. 12 days give us lots of time to fly and hike and explore, take photos, track game, spend whole days in the best fossil canyons of the area, stop in and see fantastic sites of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of South Nahanni National Park Reserve, hike up to dirty glaciers and blue ice and lakes like turquoise jewels.
The entire South Nahanni area is open to you – just follow your dreams into its immensity of mountain peaks. This is truly a trip of a lifetime. No chance of you ever forgetting any moment of it. Call or email us to discuss details of your customized trip.
$13,500 per person plus bush plane charter flight into the area from Fort Simpson of $1,300/person.
